TRAVELING PROJECT SITE SUPERINTENDENT

 

Summary:

 

The Project Site Superintendent, or Construction Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks, and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites. The Project Site Superintendent is responsible for managing one or numerous projects, providing leadership to construction teams, while ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality. The position's main duties are to ensure the continuity and efficiency of each project from start to finish with clear communication to all project stakeholders.  The qualified candidate handles multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and is open to constant changes and challenges.  An ideal candidate should be organized and able to manage multiple projects at once in the absence of day-to-day guidance.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Review and understand Design and Construction Plans.
  • Perform site walks with potential contractors.
  • Conduct safety meetings, contractor walks and pre-project planning meetings
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor the progress of construction, review status of work completed during the period covered, review that work is generally proceeding in a good and workmanlike manner and in general accordance with the approved drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare Project Status Reports.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Responsible to track project changes and produce updated schedules.
  • Assist in organizing RFPs.
  • Must be able to self- perform the following: Carpentry, light electrical/plumbing/cabinet installations/door installations/drywall repairs/painting
  • Gather appropriate documentation from clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Educations/Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of four or more years' construction administration, architecture, engineering, or similar experience.
  • Project, Service and Vendor Management experience.
  • English proficiency is a must.
  • Computer and technology literacy necessary
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a team or independently
  • Facility Management Industry knowledge is a must.

Travel Requirements

  • MUST be able to travel to job sites for periods of time
  • MUST be willing and available to be out of town plus overnights for extended periods.
  • MUST have a valid current Driver’s License
