Job Summary

The Senior Vice-President (SVP) of Facilities Services leads strategy and execution of all facets of Continuum Services’ Facility Services Division.  This Senior level leadership role develops and implements strategic and operational plans that define Continuum’s unique product offerings, creates value for our clients, and establishes Continuum as a leader in the Facility Service marketplace.  The SVP serves as an integral member of the executive team, and the role involves providing strategic leadership, managing resources, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.

 

Strategic Planning
o Develop, execute and implement comprehensive facilities services strategic plans that creates market interest,
drive the growth of Continuum’s Facilities Services business that is in alignment with the organization’s mission
and objectives
o Provide strategic direction for the planning, design and maintenance of facilities ensuring they meet the evolving
needs of the organization
o Conduct comprehensive assessments of current facilities operations, identifying areas for improvement and
implementing strategic initiatives
o Ensure the efficient functioning of physical assets, facilities, and infrastructure to support the organization’s
mission and objectives
o Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, sustainability and cost-effectiveness
o Establish a lean and nimble leadership/organization structure that supports our field teams, delivers outstanding
customer service, and remains flexible to absorb growth.
o Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term strategic plans and initiatives for the organization.
o Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s facilities services division
o Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in facilities services, incorporating relevant innovations into
strategic initiatives and programs

Leadership and Employee Engagement
o Lead cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment with project
timelines, budgets and objectives; identifying and mitigating risks that may impact the team’s ability to achieve its
goals or objectives
o Deliver a strategy to attract, retain, mentor and develop talent with a goal to make Continuum the employer of
choice in the facility services marketplace, including development of professional training and succession planning
strategies or initiatives
o Build and manage high performing teams with industry leading talent, to deliver optimal performance in alignment
with the organization’s core values, goals and initiatives
o Provide strong leadership to team members setting clear expectations, goals, and performance standards;
establish key performance indicators and metrics to measure the teams’ performance and effectiveness
o Oversee the facilities services performance management process by collaborating with team members to establish
departmental and organizational goals, monitor and evaluate progress and performance, conduct performance
reviews, provide regular feedback, and address performance issues or concerns as needed
o Engage in employee relations by way of resolving conflict between team members and conducting employee
investigations, issuing corrective actions based on findings in a fair and constructive manner
o Foster a culture of accountability, empowerment, and engagement among team members in a positive and
inclusive work environment in alignment with the company’s core values: Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and
Excellence

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
o Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, codes, and industry standards related to facilities services,
building codes, occupational health and safety and environmental regulations in a multi-state capacity
o Develop strategies for emergency preparedness plans, procedures, and protocols impacting how team members
respond effectively to emergencies, disasters, and crises affecting facilities and operations
Vendor Management
o Deploy a sourcing strategy within the facility services business that delivers outstanding customer and stakeholder
value
o Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, including contract negotiations,
net terms, performance evaluation and oversight to ensure quality, cost effectiveness and excellence in service
delivery

 

Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of facilities services including mobile services, maintenance, construction, and facilities management
  • Develop Continuum’s strategy for the deployment of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Drive a robust Energy Demand Management Program that is valued by our clients and creates a competitive advantage for Continuum.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational efficiency and service quality
  • Lead the development and integration of innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, sustainability and cost-effectiveness to determine best practices and standards
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures for continual improvements and efficiency of facilities services department and services offered and/or performed
  • Develop and prepare presentations, reports, charts and other data and materials to executive and departmental leaders as requested

 

Quality Assurance

  • Advise Chief Operating Officer of any nonconformance items and provide recommendations and corrective action measures, making changes or corrections as required
  • Champion sustainability initiatives, integrating environmentally responsible practices into all aspects of facilities management

 

Business Development and Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the facilities services budget, including forecasting, cost control and financial reporting to optimize resources and achieve financial objectives
  • Set gross margin and gross profit targets, develop and implement estimate templates, and refine pricing models
  • Review monthly variance reports and financial statements with Chief Operating Officer and address any budget variances, including creation of actionable strategic plan for improvement
  • Perform financial analysis for the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Leadership team regarding departmental financial performance

 

Education, Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or related field: and Minimum ten (10) years
progressive experience in services industry required
• Proven history developing and leading high performing teams
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all
levels of the organization including senior executives, board members and external partners
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and apply sound business judgement.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office365 products
